Dr. Wayne Sisk

Dr. Wayne Sisk

Dr. Sisk is a native of Oklahoma, born in Enid in May of 1978. He moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma in 1990 and graduated from Guthrie High School in 1997. Dr. Sisk spent a lot of time outside of Orlando at his grandparents farm, where they kept a few horses and some cattle. Dr. Sisk attended the University of Oklahoma, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelors of Science in Zoology and a minor in Chemistry. While at OU, Dr. Sisk, a first generation college student, spent some time thinking about what to do with an education.

It was at this time Dr. Sisk learned he could combine his love for animals with his love for science and decided to pursue veterinary medicine. Dr. Sisk graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Sisk initially practiced emergency and critical care medicine. He applied for and received a rotating internship to continue his training at The Hope Center for Advanced Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, Virginia. Dr. Sisk continued training and practicing veterinary medicine in Pittsburgh, PA at AVETS and then at NorthView Animal and Specialty Hospital. Dr. Sisk has worked with and learned from multiple specialists including Criticalists, Internists, Oncologists, Surgeons and Radiologists.

In 2015, Dr. Sisk and his family moved home and he began work at Neel Veterinary Hospital in the ICU. He later saw emergency and internal medicine cases and routine appointments. Dr. Sisk eventually realized his passion was helping people and their animals. While this seems obvious, it does have a deeper meaning. Dr. Sisk has said, “In the ER setting, we vets are often seen as the enemy. We are seen as standing between the pet and people and the desired outcome. In reality, I would like nothing more than a healthy pet going home.” In 2021 Dr. Sisk bought Crescent Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Sisk is excited to bring his passion for helping animals and their people closer to home, helping in his community and in his home state. Dr. Sisk loves serving the Crescent community and continuing to provide the community with access to the highest quality large and small animal veterinary care.

"I cannot wait to provide the highest quality veterinary care at a reasonable price, especially for surgeries and complicated cases, to the people of Crescent, Guthrie, Edmond, Cashion, Kingfisher and Northern Oklahoma City!"
